THE SKOKOMISH RIVER NEAR POTLATCH
* UNTIL LATE SATURDAY NIGHT.
* AT 1:45 PM FRIDAY THE STAGE WAS 17.4 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 16.5 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER CRESTED AT 17.4 FEET AT 12 PM FRIDAY AND WILL
CONTINUE TO FALL TO BELOW FLOOD STAGE SATURDAY EVENING.
* IMPACT...AT 16.5 FEET...THE SKOKOMISH RIVER WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD
FLOODING OF PASTURE LANDS...WITH WATER FLOWING QUICKLY OVER WEST
BOURGAULT ROAD AND SKOKOMISH VALLEY ROAD.

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES... SKAGIT...KING...LEWIS...MASON...PIERCE...
SNOHOMISH...THURSTON.

* THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON

* HEAVY RAIN WILL OVER ACROSS WESTERN WASHINGTON TODAY AS A
STRONG COLD FRONT MOVES SOUTH THROUGH THE AREA. THE FRONTAL BAND
WILL BRING 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN TO THE WEST SLOPES OF THE
CASCADES TODAY AS IT MOVES THROUGH. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE
AROUND 5000 TO 6500 FEET AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT...FALLING
QUICKLY TO AROUND 2500 FEET IN ITS WAKE.

* MANY RIVERS FLOWING OFF THE WEST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES ARE
RUNNING HIGH...ESPECIALLY FROM KING COUNTY NORTHWARD. THE
ADDITIONAL RAIN TODAY COULD DRIVE SOME OF THEM ABOVE FLOOD
STAGE. WHERE FLOODING DOES OCCUR...IT IS EXPECTED TO BE
RELATIVELY MINOR.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT OCCURRING.

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS
EVENING TO 11 AM PST SATURDAY.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...THE NORTH PUGET SOUND REGION FROM A
NORTH SEATTLE TO POULSBO LINE UP THROUGH ABOUT A PORT TOWNSEND
TO ARLINGTON LINE. THIS INCLUDES SOUTH WHIDBEY ISLAND AND FROM
EVERETT EAST TO THE CASCADES.

* TIMING...RAIN WILL CONTINUE IN A PUGET SOUND CONVERGENCE ZONE
THIS EVENING. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW FROM ABOUT LATE EVENING
ONWARD.

* ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 3 INCHES.
