A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO SWEEP ACROSS THE
MID STATE THIS MORNING...AND BRING ALONG A SHOT OF SNOW...
ESPECIALLY TO NORTHERN AND EASTERN AREAS. IN FACT...A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW IS IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE PART OF EASTERN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE THROUGH 9 AM CST THIS MORNING...WHERE ONE INCH OF
SNOW ACCUMULATION WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER LOCAL AMOUNTS IS FORECAST.

THOSE PLANNING HOLIDAY TRAVEL ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU
THIS MORNING MAY ENCOUNTER SLICK HIGHWAYS... ESPECIALLY ALONG
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT IN THE ADVISORY
AREA ARE FORECAST TO BOTTOM OUT BETWEEN 30 AND 34 DEGREES.

LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE FURTHER WEST...MAINLY IN A
BAND FROM CLARKSVILLE OVER TOWARD GALLATIN AND WATERTOWN...AND
THEN DOWN TOWARD CARTHAGE...SMITHVILLE... MCMINNVILLE AND
ALTAMONT. THIS INCLUDES THE HIGHLAND RIM...JUST NORTH OF
NASHVILLE. ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE HALF INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN THOSE
AREAS...MAINLY ON GRASSY AREAS AND ROOFTOPS...WITH LOW
TEMPERATURES FORECAST TO BOTTOM OUT BETWEEN 31 AND 33 DEGREES.

SOME SNOW FLURRIES ARE POSSIBLE EVEN FURTHER SOUTH AND WEST...
TOWARD NASHVILLE...DICKSON...COLUMBIA...MURFREESBORO...AND
SHELBYVILLE...BUT NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED IN THOSE AREAS.
