Interior Northern California has experienced significant rainfall
and widespread flooding problems from prolonged rainfall. The entire
region has saturated soils resulting in widespread areas of standing
water, high stream flows and many flooded areas.

Continued runoff and high stream flows will stress levees leading to
bank erosion, boils and breaches.

Flooding has occurred in locations that have not experienced
flooding in many years.

Residents in interior Northern California should be prepared for
flooding. Be prepared to evacuate if flooding should affect your
area. Gather a "go bag" with important items like medications and
hard to replace documents. Don't forget to plan for your pets and
animals.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
