* Flood Warning for
The San Bernard River Near East Bernard.
* from this evening to Saturday evening...or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0600 AM Tuesday the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to rise to near
18.5 feet by Thursday morning.the river will fall below flood stage by late
Saturday morning.
* At 17.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage with
minor roads along the river inundated. Backwater flooding up Britt Branch and
Bratcher Slough begins.

* At 0915 AM Tuesday the stage was 28.7 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 39.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday morning
with a continued rise to near 43.0 feet by Friday morning.
* At 43.0 feet...Major lowland flooding begins as the slab elevations of lowest
homes in the west part of Wharton are reached with the school in southwest
Wharton close to being isolated.

44 and 45 feet later this week, based on routed flows from
upstream.
* At 45.3 feet...Many homes in the west part of Wharton have up to 2
to 3 feet the school in southwest Wharton is isolated and
flooded.

* At 0931 PM Tuesday the stage was 30.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to crest near or just below major
flood stage overnight tonight.
* At 27.0 feet...There is widespread moderate flooding upstream from
the gage with significant backwater flooding up West Bernard Creek
and Peach Creek in Wharton County and low lying areas in the El
Lobo subdivision are threatened. Backwater flooding up Snake Creek
in Fort Bend County threatens low areas in the Tierra Grande
subdivision.

* Flood stage is 34.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to crest 41 to 42 feet Friday morning.
* At 41.3 feet...Moderate lowland flooding continue with widespread inundation
of the left flood plain. In past floods some homes near U.S. Highway 90 had up
to 2 feet of water in them and FM 950 downstream from the gage was inundated
and closed
