AREAS OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. ONE VERY
INTENSE AREA OF RAIN STRETCHED FROM NEAR ROPESVILLE TO NEW HOME TO
TAHOKA...WHERE RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 3 INCHES AN HOUR WILL BE
POSSIBLE. MORE HEAVY RAIN WAS LOCATED TO THE SOUTHWEST OF
POST...WITH A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL FROM MCADOO TO
WHITE RIVER LAKE TO LAKE ALAN HENRY. ALL OF THIS ACTIVITY WAS MOVING
VERY SLOWLY TO NOT AT ALL.

INDICATED AN AREA OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.
THE HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL ON LOCATIONS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 2
TO 4 PLUS INCHES IN THE PAST 3 HOURS.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING TO OCCUR.
SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
BROWNFIELD...NEW MOORE AND UNION.

THE BROWNFIELD SHERIFFS OFFICE WAS REPORTING WATER OVER THE
PORTIONS OF HIGHWAYS 137 AND 380 TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF

* A PORTION OF NORTHWEST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREAS...BAILEY...COCHRAN...CROSBY...DICKENS...FLOYD...GARZA...HALE...
HOCKLEY...KENT...LAMB...LUBBOCK...LYNN...MOTLEY...TERRY AND
YOAKUM.

* THROUGH THIS EVENING

* A VERY MOIST AIRMASS WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE TEXAS SOUTH PLAINS
REGION TODAY AS A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WITH TROPICAL
CONNECTIONS REMAINS OVERHEAD. THE COMBINATION WILL BRING THE
POTENTIAL FOR INTERMITTENT PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL INTO THIS
EVENING. ADDITIONAL RAIN TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE
POSSIBLE...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. RUNOFF WILL BE ENHANCED
WITH WET GROUNDS LESS ABLE TO HOLD ADDITIONAL RAINFALL CAUSING A
RISK OF AREAL FLOODING OR LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

* AREAL FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...
INCLUDING LOW LYING ROADWAYS...NEAR PLAYA LAKES..AND ALONG
CREEKS AND DRAWS. POCKETS OF FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE
WITH THE MOST INTENSE RAIN IN AREAS PRONE TO RAPID RUNOFF SUCH
AS THE EDGE OF THE CAPROCK ESCARPMENT.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.
