...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
6 AM MDT THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING
TO 6 AM MDT THURSDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS THE SANGRE DE CRISTO
MOUNTAINS NEAR THE COLORADO BORDER...INCLUDING INTERSTATE 25
OVER RATON PASS. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON
HIGHER PEAKS AND EAST FACING SLOPES.

* TIMING...RAIN SHOWERS AROUND SUNSET WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW BY
LATE EVENING. SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES FROM LATE EVENING INTO
THE LATE NIGHT HOURS...THEN SNOW COVERAGE AND INTENSITY SHOULD
DECREASE BY SUNRISE THURSDAY MORNING.

* WINDS...EAST AND NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 20 MPH. SHIFTING OUT OF THE
NORTH TOWARD SUNRISE.

* SNOW LEVELS...LOWERING FROM AROUND 9000 FEET AT SUNSET TO 7000
FEET BY MIDNIGHT BEFORE BOTTOMING OUT NEAR 6000 FEET AROUND
SUNRISE THURSDAY.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW PACKED AND ICY.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL
PRIMARILY CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED
