...POTENT STORM SYSTEM TO BRING SHOWERS...THUNDERSTORMS...GUSTY
WINDS...CHILLIER TEMPERATURES AND EVEN SOME MOUNTAIN SNOW...

AS NOVEMBER BEGINS THE WEATHER PATTERN MAKES A CHANGE...FROM DRY AND
MILD TO WETTER AND COOLER CONDITIONS. A STORM SYSTEM ALONG THE WEST
COAST WILL MOVE INLAND TO THE GREAT BASIN TODAY. PART OF THE SYSTEM
WILL LIFT NORTHEAST TOWARD THE NORTHERN ROCKY MOUNTAINS TONIGHT INTO
SUNDAY. BUT ANOTHER PORTION OF THE STORM WILL BE LEFT BEHIND AND WILL
SLOWLY MOVE EAST INTO ARIZONA SUNDAY AND INTO NEW MEXICO MONDAY INTO
TUESDAY. AT THE SURFACE A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE STATE SUNDAY INTO
SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH A SECONDARY COLD FRONT FROM THE NORTH SWEEPING
ACROSS NEW MEXICO MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT.

THE STORM SYSTEM AS ALREADY BEGUN TO DRAW MOISTURE NORTH INTO THE
LAND OF ENCHANTMENT...SHOWING UP IN THE FORM OF A FEW SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS LATE FRIDAY THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING. THE SHOWERS
AND STORMS WILL REMAIN FAIRLY ISOLATED TODAY AND TONIGHT...MOSTLY
CONCENTRATED OVER THE SOUTHERN SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS. AS THE STORM
MOVES EAST PRECIPITATION WILL EXPAND SIGNIFICANTLY SUNDAY INTO
MONDAY. MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA WILL SEE SOME RAINFALL DURING
THIS TIME...WITH AMOUNTS FROM A TENTH TO A THIRD OF AN INCH COMMON.
IT WILL TURN COLDER LATE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY BEHIND THE FIRST FRONT.
THIS WILL ALLOW A CHANGE TO SNOW OVER THE HIGHER PEAKS OF THE WESTERN
AND NORTHERN MOUNTAINS. WIDESPREAD SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD
NOT OCCUR BUT SEVERAL INCHES COULD FALL NORTH AND EAST OF CHAMA. THE
NORTHEAST COULD RECEIVE A LITTLE SNOW BEHIND THE SECOND COLD FRONT
MONDAY NIGHT.

BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS WILL BE COMMON OVER SOUTHERN AND EASTERN
AREAS THIS WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL CREATE MORE OF A
CHILL TO THE AIR.

TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN NEAR TO ABOVE NORMAL THIS WEEKEND...BUT
WILL BEGIN TO PLUMMET SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH MOSTLY BELOW NORMAL
READINGS MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. A FREEZE IS LIKELY OVER
PORTIONS OF THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY MONDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.
