The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory For elevations above 6500 feet for snow, which
is in effect from 4 AM Thursday to 6 AM MDT Friday. the Winter
Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations: Big Hole Pass, Chief Joseph Pass, Monida Pass,
Raynolds Pass, Targhee Pass, and West Yellowstone.

* Timing: Snow will develop by early Thursday morning from west to
east. Periods of snow will continue through early Friday morning
before tapering off. The snow may come down moderate to heavy at
times on Thursday.

* Accumulations: Snow accumulation of 5 to 10 inches. Isolated
higher amounts possible where heavier bands of snow develop.

* Winds: North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Visibility: Less than a mile at times. The heaviest bands of
snow may reduce the visibility to a half mile or less at times.

* Impacts: The snow will make travel slower and at times more
difficult over mountain passes...especially during periods of
heavier snow. Wet and raw conditions are expected for those with
outdoor interests in the mountains. In addition...there may be
an increased avalanche threat.
