THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
NORTHEASTERN ORANGE COUNTY IN SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA...
WESTERN RIVERSIDE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA...

* UNTIL 100 PM PST

* AT 1054 AM PST...DOPPLER RADAR AND AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES INDICATED
THAT HEAVY RAIN WAS APPROACHING THE AREA. RAINFALL RATES OF ONE
HALF INCH IN 30 MINUTES HAVE BEEN OBSERVED MOVING TOWARD THE BURN
SCAR. FLASH FLOODING MAY BEGIN SHORTLY.

EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE BURN SCAR WILL RESULT IN DEBRIS FLOW
MOVING THROUGH SILVERADO CANYON. THE DEBRIS FLOW CAN CONSIST OF
ROCK...MUD...VEGETATION AND OTHER LOOSE MATERIALS.

FLASH FLOODS AND DEBRIS FLOWS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR IN THE SILVERADO
CANYON AREA DUE TO HEAVY RAIN FALLING OVER THE SILVERADO FIRE BURN
SCAR. THIS INCLUDES HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN AND AROUND SILVERADO
CANYON ROAD. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR SILVERADO CANYON
RESIDENTS...AND IMMEDIATE MEASURES SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PROTECT LIFE
AND PROPERTY.

THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN ARIZONA...LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY
AZ...WEST CENTRAL DESERTS AND YUMA/MARTINEZ LAKE AND VICINITY. IN
EXTREME SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA...LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY CA.

* UNTIL 5 PM MST /4 PM PST/ THIS AFTERNOON

* SHOWERS THAT ARE NOW AFFECTING THIS REGION ARE EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE MORNING HOURS...BEFORE
TAPERING OFF BY LATE AFTERNOON. SOME ISOLATED LIGHT SHOWERS ARE
STILL POSSIBLE THIS EVENING. STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY
VARY FROM ONE HALF TO ONE INCH WITH SOME SPOTS POSSIBLY AS HIGH AS
ONE AND A QUARTER INCHES.

* RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE SUFFICIENT TO EVENTUALLY PRODUCE
SIGNIFICANT RUNOFF IN AT LEAST SOME OF THE NORMALLY DRY WASHES
CREATING POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS AT UNBRIDGED CROSSINGS.
OTHER LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS WILL LIKELY SEE SOME INUNDATION.
AFFECTED WASHES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO...CENTENNIAL...
BOUSE...TYSON...AND MCCOY. RURAL ROADS AND PORTIONS OF SOME
HIGHWAYS INCLUDING HIGHWAY 95...HIGHWAY 60...ARIZONA ROUTE 72...
AND CALIFORNIA ROUTE 78 WILL LIKELY BE AFFECTED.
