FOR THE NOME AND SNAKE RIVERS IN THE NOME AREA...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR RAIN AND MELTING SNOW IN THE NOME AND SNAKE
RIVERS

* UNTIL 430 PM AKDT FRIDAY

* WATER FROM RAIN AND SNOW MELT IS FLOWING ON TOP OF THE ICE IN THE
NOME AND SNAKE RIVER. WATER LEVELS HAVE REACHED ADVISORY STAGE AND
CONTINUE TO RISE. IT IS EXPECTED THAT WATER LEVELS WILL REMAIN HIGH
THROUGH FRIDAY AND COULD POSSIBLE RISE TO HIGHER LEVELS.

* FLOODING IS NOW OCCURRING IN LOW LYING YARDS ALONG THE SNAKE
RIVER. AT THIS TIME IT IS EXPECTED THAT FLOODING WILL REMAIN MINOR
AND ONLY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE NOME AND SNAKE RIVERS.
WATER IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN HIGH THROUGH FRIDAY.
