...Areas of Dense Fog Expected throughout the Night...

Areas of fog are developing and expanding across the North
Carolina Foothills and Piedmont and into Southside Virginia,
Piedmont, and the New River Valley. This has occurred as a result
of moist ground from recent rains and light yet moist southeast
flow with limited cloud cover above. It is quite possible that
fog will become even more widespread and dense as the night
progresses with little to no improvement before daybreak. If so, a
Dense Fog Advisory will become necessary later this evening or
tonight.

If you plan to travel overnight into early Tuesday morning, be
prepared for areas of dense fog. Reduce speed, use low beam
headlights, and allow extra distance between you and the vehicle
in front of you. Be prepared for rapid flucturations in visibility
from valleys to ridge tops and urban to rural areas.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or Commercial Radio and
Television for the latest weather information.
