...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT /8 PM
MST/ SATURDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Highs today in the Las Vegas Valley and Pahrump
will reach 107 to 110 degrees...112 to 115 along the Colorado
River Valley, and 120 to 125 degrees in Death Valley.
Temperatures on Saturday are forecast to cool only about 1 to 2
degrees.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke will be possible. People most vulnerable include
those who are spending lots of time outdoors...those who do
not have air conditioning...young children...the elderly...and
those with chronic ailments.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.

* TEMPERATURE...Highs will range from the mid 80s to mid 90s today
and Saturday at elevations above 6000 feet.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke will be possible. Limit outdoor activity,
especially in full sun.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The hot temperatures will create a situation in which
heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an
air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
