THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON, MA HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR
THE NORTH NASHUA RIVER AT FITCHBURG.
* FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO THIS EVENING...OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS
CANCELLED.
* AT 7:30 AM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 4.9 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 6.5 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE BY THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE TO
RISE TO NEAR 6.6 FEET BY THIS AFTERNOON. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW
FLOOD STAGE BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON.
* IMPACT...AT 7.0 FEET...FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE RIVER
CAN BE EXPECTED. FLOODING ENCROACHES ON BUSINESSES NEAR THE
JUNCTION OF RIVER AND DEPOT STREETS IN FITCHBURG.

HAMPSHIRE...FRANKLIN AND NORTHWESTERN WORCESTER COUNTIES...

AT 1247 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT THE BULK OF THE RAIN
HAS COME TO AN END. HOWEVER...SPOTTER REPORTS INDICATE SOME
LOCATIONS RECEIVED UP TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN EARLIER. WHILE ADDITIONAL
HEAVY RAIN IS NOT EXPECTED...RUNOFF FROM EARLIER RAINFALL MAY RESULT
IN SOME SMALL RIVER AND STREAM FLOODING. THIS INCLUDES THE GREEN
RIVER AT COLRAIN WHICH WAS CURRENTLY IN FLOOD AND STILL RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS!

NEAR THE COAST.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS MAY DOWN TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES...
RESULTING IN ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. THE HEAVY RAIN COMBINED
WITH FULLY LEAFED TREES WILL LIKELY EXACERBATE THE POTENTIAL
FOR DOWNED TREE LIMBS.
