* PORTIONS OF CENTRAL KANSAS AND SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS...
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN CENTRAL KANSAS...CHASE. IN
SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS...BUTLER...COWLEY...SEDGWICK AND SUMNER.

* UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON.

* ANOTHER ROUND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IS POSSIBLE THIS
MORNING. GIVEN SATURATED GROUNDS...ANYTHING MORE THAN A PASSING
LIGHT SHOWER WILL LIKELY RESULT IN RENEWED FLOODING OR
EXACERBATE EXISTING FLOODING. MINOR FLOODING IS ALSO FORECAST ON
SEVERAL RIVERS ACROSS THE AREA.

* THOSE WITH OUTDOOR PLANS ALONG CREEKS AND RIVERS NEED TO MONITOR
THE WEATHER SITUATION CLOSELY.

CDT SUNDAY FOR COWLEY AND SUMNER COUNTIES...

AT 221 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THE HEAVY RAINFALL HAD
EXITED EAST OF THE WARNED AREA. CONSEQUENTLY...THE RISK FOR
WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED FOR THE TIME BEING ACROSS SOUTH-
CENTRAL KANSAS. HOWEVER...EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THE WIDESPREAD 2 TO
3 INCHES OF RAIN THAT OCCURRED ACROSS THE AREA YESTERDAY WILL
CONTINUE TO CAUSE AREAS OF STREET FLOODING...FLOODING OF VARIOUS
COUNTY ROADS AND LOW-LYING AREAS...AS WELL AS FLOODING ALONG THE
BANKS OF STREAMS AND CREEKS INTO AT LEAST SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO
HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO

The Walnut River At Winfield.
* From early this morning until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 2:46 AM Sunday the stage was 16.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early this morning and
continue to rise to near 24.9 feet by early Tuesday morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...A large portion of the fairgrounds flood
along with roads west of Rock and 3 miles northwest of Winfield.

The Arkansas River At Arkansas City.
* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 3:00 AM Sunday the stage was 11.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 14.5 feet by
early Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
evening.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet...The city begins to check and start closing
storm water flood gates.
