The National Weather Service in Lincoln has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Vermilion County in east central Illinois...

* Until 715 AM CST Friday

* At 703 PM CST, emergency management reported flooding in numerous
areas of Vermilion County, due to the recent heavy rainfall. Many
rural roads remain closed due to flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville, Hoopeston, Georgetown, Westville, Tilton, Catlin,
Oakwood, Rossville, Ridge Farm, Potomac, Fairmount, Sidell, Rankin,
Fithian, Belgium, Allerton, Muncie, Bismarck, Indianola and
Henning.

This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 199 and 219.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Vermilion River near Danville.
* Until Friday evening.
* At 715 PM Thursday the stage was 25.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...Flooding begins downstream in Eugene and
Cayuga Indiana.
