NOON MDT MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PUEBLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY WEST SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO NOON MDT MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.

* LOCATION...THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF BOTH THE WET MOUNTAINS AND
SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...A STRONG SPRING STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION
THIS AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY MORNING. THIS STORM WILL BRING HEAVY
WET SNOW THE THE REGION.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 TO 16 INCHES OF SNOW. THE HEAVIEST SNOW
WILL OCCUR ON THE EAST FACING SLOPES. THE PRECIPITATION WILL
BEGIN AS RAIN BUT IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO SNOW BY MID TO LATE
AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL LIKELY OCCUR ABOVE
7000 FEET.

* WIND...NORTHEAST TO EAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO HEAVY SNOW...POOR
VISIBILITIES AND SNOW COVERED ROADS. SOME TREE DAMAGE AND
POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE DUE TO THE INTENSE SNOWFALL
RATES... ESPECIALLY ON NEWLY LEAFED OUT TREES ACROSS THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS.

AVOID TRAVEL IN THE WARNING AREA. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL

ABOVE 10000 FEET.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...A STRONG SPRING STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION
THIS AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY MORNING. THIS STORM WILL BRING HEAVY
WET SNOW THE THE REGION.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...1 TO 2 FEET WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.

* LOCATION...HUERFANO AND WESTERN LAS ANIMAS COUNTY BELOW 7500
FEET.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...SNOW WILL BE DEPENDENT ON ELEVATIONS. AREAS
GENERALLY BELOW 6000 FEET WILL LIKELY NOT SEE ANY SNOW WITH THIS
STORM. RAIN WILL LIKELY MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SNOW ABOVE 6000
FEET THIS EVENING. THE HEAVIER ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR
GENERALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS AROUND 6 INCHES AT
THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* WIND...NORTHEAST TO EAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL LIKELY BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO HEAVY
