...A WINTRY MIX EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY...
A slow-moving area of low pressure is forecast to move from the
central Plains Thursday, into the Great Lakes Friday night and
exit the region by Saturday afternoon. As the storm approaches
Thursday night, light to moderate snow will overspread northeast
Wisconsin. This snow will also be accompanied by gusty northeast
winds which may create blowing and drifting snow. As warmer air
ahead of the system arrives early on Friday, the snow will become
mixed with freezing rain, or change over to all rain. The mixed
precipitation would then continue into Friday night and eventually
change back to all snow as colder air gets pulled into the region
behind the storm.
There is still some uncertainty as to how much snow or ice would
fall due to the unknown track of the storm and how much mixing of
precipitation occurs. Anyone that plans to travel from Thursday
night into Saturday should keep abreast of the latest weather
information and plan on the potential for slippery road
