...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AND THE WASHINGTON
STATE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY CONTINUE THE AIR QUALITY ALERT UNTIL
FURTHER NOTICE.

A SMOKE AIR QUALITY ALERT HAS BEEN ISSUED. WILDFIRES BURNING IN THE
REGION COMBINED WITH FORECASTED CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE AIR QUALITY TO
REACH UNHEALTHY LEVELS.

POLLUTANTS IN SMOKE CAN CAUSE BURNING EYES...RUNNY NOSE...AGGRAVATE
HEART AND LUNG DISEASES...AND AGGRAVATE OTHER SERIOUS HEALTH
PROBLEMS. LIMIT OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES AND KEEP CHILDREN INDOORS IF IT
IS SMOKY. PLEASE FOLLOW MEDICAL ADVICE IF YOU HAVE A HEART OR LUNG
CONDITION.

IN ADDITION...A COLD FRONT THAT HAS PASSED THROUGH THE PACIFIC
NORTHWEST THIS MORNING WILL CREATE WINDY CONDITIONS. ALTHOUGH AIR
QUALITY ISSUES DUE TO SMOKE MAY IMPROVE BRIEFLY...THE WINDY
CONDITIONS WILL ALSO PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING DUST. THIS DUST WILL
ADD TO THE AIR QUALITY ISSUES THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
