...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Dense Fog
Advisory, which is in effect until 10 AM EST Tuesday.

* Locations...Generally east and south of a line from Boone, to
Galax, to Pulaski, to Roanoke, to Lynchburg, including the Blue
Ridge, North Carolina Foothills, Southside Virginia, New River
Valley, Roanoke Valley, and Southside Virginia, along much of
the Virginia/North Carolina Piedmont.

* Hazards...Areas of dense fog with severely reduced visibilities.

* Visibilities...Between 0 miles and 1 mile, with widespread areas
of 1/4 to 1/2 mile.

* Timing...through 10 am Tuesday morning.

* Impacts...Travel will be hampered within the areas of dense fog.
Widespread areas with visibilities between 1/4 and 1/2 mile.
Visibility will also be highly variable from one location to
another, such as between ridgetops and valleys.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down...
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Allow extra time to reach your destination.
