...WINTER WEATHER RETURNS TO THE PANHANDLES...

THE FIRST FULL DAY OF WINTER WILL BE NOTED WITH A CHANGE IN THE
WEATHER FOR THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES. A STRONG UPPER-LEVEL
STORM SYSTEM WILL DIRECT A ZONE OF VERY STRONG WINDS ALOFT ACROSS
THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS INTO THE EASTERN PLAINS OF NEW MEXICO AND
WESTERN PARTS OF THE PANHANDLES. AS THIS OCCURS...A COLD FRONT WILL
CAUSE TEMPERATURES TO FALL RAPIDLY THIS EVENING ACROSS THE
PANHANDLES. AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT
ACROSS THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES...GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE
FROM GUYMON TO WELLINGTON. MOST AREAS WILL RECEIVE ONLY A DUSTING
OF SNOW...WHILE THE WESTERN PARTS OF THE COMBINED PANHANDLES MAY
RECEIVE UP TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH.

THE THREAT OF SNOW WILL END TONIGHT...BUT STRONG NORTH WINDS ON
TUESDAY WILL MAKE FOR A COLD AND BLUSTERY DAY. WINDS GUSTING ABOVE
50 MPH ARE EXPECTED ON TUESDAY ACROSS MUCH OF THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA
PANHANDLES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES ABOUT TEN DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS
AND TEENS ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA DURING THE TIME OF THE MORNING
COMMUTE ON TUESDAY. THE STRONG WINDS DURING THE DAY WILL KEEP WIND
CHILL VALUES MAINLY IN THE TWENTIES THROUGH MOST OF THE DAY.

THE COLD AND WINDY CONDITIONS WILL COME TO AN END TUESDAY NIGHT.
ON WEDNESDAY...LIGHT TO MODERATE WEST WINDS AND HIGHS AROUND 50
DEGREES CAN BE EXPECTED.
