MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MORRISTOWN HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

* EVENT...SUSTAINED SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO
60 MPH AND HIGHER ARE EXPECTED OVER THE FOOTHILLS OF THE EASTERN
TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AND INCLUDING THE EASTERN TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS...THE SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS AND PARTS OF
THE SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS. THE
WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE SOUTH AND THEN SOUTHWEST LATER SUNDAY
NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING.

* TIMING...HIGH WINDS ARE EXPECTED BETWEEN 1 PM SUNDAY AND 7 AM
MONDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...WINDS OF THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE DAMAGE DUE TO
FALLING TREES AND POWER OUTAGES. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION
WHEN DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS...ESPECIALLY HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH AND/OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. WINDS OF THESE MAGNITUDES MAY
CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES.
