* Flash Flood Warning for...
Dyer County in western Tennessee...
Northwestern Gibson County in western Tennessee...
Obion County in western Tennessee...

* Until 115 PM CDT

* At 909 AM CDT...Doppler Radar estimates 2 inches of rain has
occurred over the past 2 hours. Showers and thunderstorms will
produce an additional 2 to 3 inches of rain over the next 4

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dyersburg, Union City, Fulton, Reelfoot Lake State Park,
Tiptonville, Newbern, South Fulton, Ridgely, Troy, Kenton, Obion,
Clayton, Cloverdale, Bradleytown, Heloise, Miston, Cottonwood
Grove, Trimble, Hornbeak and Woodland Mills.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Memphis has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of North Mississippi and
West Tennessee, including the following areas, in North
Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe,
Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union. In West
Tennessee, Chester, Gibson, Hardeman, Madison, and McNairy.

* Through late afternoon

* Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected to produce
between 1 to 3 inches across the watch area, with rainfall of
up to 2 inches possible in as little as 30 minutes.

* Recent rainfall has saturated soils across the watch area. Any
additional heavy rainfall may result in the potential for
flash flooding and subsequent river flooding.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

At 927 AM CDT...strong thunderstorms were producing pea size hail or
larger and winds at least 40 mph was located along a line extending
from 6 miles north of Tiptonville to near Chestnut Bluff. Movement
was northeast at 50 mph.

Very heavy rain along with continuous cloud to ground lightning are
also possible with this thunderstorm.

People in Lake...northwestern Crockett...Obion...eastern Dyer and
northwestern Gibson Counties should monitor this storm closely.

Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* WINDS...south winds sustained of 20 to 30 mph...with gusts to
40 mph

* TIMING...Through late afternoon today.

* IMPACTS...Loose outdoor items will be vulnerable in the wind.
Driving may become hazardous...especially for high profile
vehicles on west to east roadways.


A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 25 to 39 mph are
expected...or gusts will range between 40 and 57 mph. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile
