THIS AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 7 AM this morning to 3 PM PST
this afternoon.

* WINDS...South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph,
especially over the higher terrain.

* TIMING...This morning and early this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Tree damage could lead to travel problems and power
outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 7 AM this morning to 3 PM PST
this afternoon.

* WINDS...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.

* TIMING...This morning and early this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The winds could lead to tree damage that could lead to
travel problems and power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 45 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.

AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon.

* TIMING...Today.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 to 7 inches.

* SNOW LEVEL...3500 to 4500 feet.

* WINDS...south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph higher
elevations and exposed locations could cause areas of blowing
and drifting snow and reduce visibilities.

* IMPACTS...Roads will be snow covered and icy, causing travel
problems. The snow will cause problems for those engaged in
outdoor activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
