...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING
THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

* Snow accumulations in Watch area: 4 to 8 inches.

* Snow accumulations in Advisory area: 2 to 4 inches.

* Elevation: Generally above 1500 feet but above 2500 feet for
the Watch area.

* Timing: Snow showers will continue and may become moderate
this evening through tonight. Another round of heavier
snowfall is possible Sunday.

* Advisory locations include: Highway 199 from Hayes Hill to
Obrien. Interstate 5 at Sexton Pass.

* Warning locations include: Higher terrain of the Kalmiopsis.

* Impacts: Any heavier snow showers, even during the afternoon
Sunday, could quickly create slushy conditions on roadways.
Snowfall will reduce visibilities to less than a half mile at
times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* Stock emergency kit with tire chains, flashlight, batteries,
blankets, food, water, and medications.

* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.

* Plan now to avoid traveling during the storm.

* A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow accumulations that may create dangerous travel.

* A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties.

4 AM PST MONDAY...

* Snow accumulations...6 to 12 inches. Around 3 inches expected
near Siskiyou Summit on Interstate 5.

* Winds...West 15 to 25 mph.

* Elevation...Highest snow amounts generally above 4000 feet.

* Timing...Highest snowfall rates...around one inch per hour...
are expected Sunday afternoon.

* Locations include...Highways 138...230 and 62 near Diamond
Lake and Crater Lake. Highway 140 near Lake of the Woods.
Mount Ashland Ski Road.

* Impacts...Roads are expected to become snow covered in heavier
snow showers. Blowing snow will reduce visibilities at times
to less than one quarter mile.
