...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST THIS
EVENING...

* Additional snow accumulations...2 to 4 inches. 6 to 9 inches
west of Crater lake and in the Siskiyous west of Siskiyou
Summit.

* Snow level...2500 feet this morning, lowering to 1500 feet by
this evening.

* Timing...Snow showers will continue today, with the highest
precipitation rates expected this morning and this evening.

* Locations include...Highway 138 at and above Toketee Falls,
including the Crater and Diamond Lake areas. Highway 140
between near Mount McLoughlin and Lake of the Woods, portions
of Highway 66, and portions of Dead Indian Memorial Highway.
Oregon Caves to Mount Ashland.

* Impacts...Roads will become snow covered and slippery,
especially during periods of increased snowfall. Visibilities
will also be reduced during heavier snow showers.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST
THURSDAY...

* Snow accumulations...1 to 3 inches in portions of the Illinois
Valley and above 1500 feet in portions of the Rogue Valley. 2 to
4 inches over the passes on Interstate 5 between Grants Pass and
Roseburg. Local amounts up to 6 inches in rural areas above
3000 feet.

* Snow levels...Falling to 1500 feet by this evening, and then to
750 feet overnight. Heavier showers this afternoon can briefly drop
snow levels to valley floors.

* Timing...Snow showers will continue today. Heavier snow showers
are possible this afternoon and evening with lower snow levels.
Road temperatures this afternoon should limit impacts until this
evening. Snow showers will taper to flurries tonight.


* Locations include...Interstate 5 at Sexton Summit, Smith Hill
Pass, Stage Road Pass, and Canyon Creek Pass, highway 227
between Tiller and Trail, and highway 62 above Lost Creek
Reservoir. Glendale, Cave Junction, Obrien, Ruch, and Ashland
will also be affected.

* Impacts...Area roads above 2000 foot elevations, including
Interstate 5, will become snow and slush covered during
moderate to heavy snow showers. Travel will become difficult
due to slippery roadways and limited visibility, at times.
Colder conditions this evening will lead to greater potential
of accumulations on roadways down to about 1500 feet, as well
as the potential for black ice formation.

EVENING ABOVE 1500 FEET...

* Snow accumulations...2 to 6 inches.

* Winds...Northwest 5 to 15 mph.

* Elevation...Above 1500 feet.

* Timing...Snow levels will lower from 2000 feet to near 1500 feet
late this morning through the afternoon. The heaviest
precipitation is expected this afternoon. Warm road temperatures
should limit accumulations this afternoon.

* Locations include...The Coos and Curry County Coastal
Mountains.

* Impacts...Those traveling, working, or recreating above 1500
feet should expect significant snowfall that will reduce
visibilities to less than a half mile, at times, and will make
travel more difficult.
