* Until 145 PM EST

* At 749 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will
cause flooding. Up to 1.50 inches of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Athens, Marietta, Belpre, Jackson, Wellston, Nelsonville, New
Lexington, Glouster, McConnelsville, Mcarthur, Oak Hill, Beverly,
Albany, Shawnee, Coolville, Rutland, Chesterhill, Lake Hope State
Park, Vienna and Williamstown.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and West
Virginia, including the following areas, in northeast
Kentucky, Boyd and Greenup. In southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia,
Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and
Washington. In West Virginia, Cabell, Jackson WV, Mason,
Pleasants, Tyler, Wayne, and Wood.

* From this evening through Sunday morning.

* A cold front will stall over the area bringing several rounds
of heavy rainfall starting late tonight and into Thursday
morning. Waves of significant precipitation will continue to
move across the area into Sunday.

* Flooding of poor drainage and low lying areas, especially
along small streams, creeks and rivers, especially the Ohio
and Muskingum rivers, is possible.


A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
