THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BLACKSBURG HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 7 PM EST THURSDAY.

* LOCATIONS...AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF THE BLUE RIDGE...SOUTH OF
THE INTERSTATE 64 CORRIDOR.

* HAZARD TYPES...FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES
WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...ALONG WITH AREAS OF ICING WHERE
ICE MAY BECOME UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH THICK.

* TIMING...RAIN WILL CHANGE TO FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET AFTER
MIDNIGHT THURSDAY...THEN CHANGE TO MAINLY SNOW AFTER SUNRISE
THURSDAY.

* IMPACTS...SNOW AND SLEET WILL COVER THE ROADS LEADING TO
HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 30S.
