...UNSETTLED WEATHER TO RETURN TO SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE
WESTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE THIS WEEKEND...

A STRONG SPRING STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A PERIOD OF UNSETTLED
WEATHER TO SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE WESTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE
BEGINNING LATE SATURDAY. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE FOR RAIN AND A
FEW THUNDERSTORMS ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A PACIFIC COLD
FRONT THAT WILL SLOWLY MOVE EAST ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA SATURDAY
NIGHT AND SUNDAY. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO SNOW IN THE
MOUNTAINS ABOVE 8500 FEET SATURDAY NIGHT...WITH SNOW BEGINNING TO
MIX WITH RAIN DOWN TO THE VALLEY FLOORS THROUGH THIS TIME AS WELL.
THE CHANGEOVER TO ALL SNOW IN THE VALLEYS LOOKS TO OCCUR MORESO ON
SUNDAY MORNING. SNOWFALL RATES IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS COULD BE
MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY...WITH SOME ACCUMULATION EXPECTED IN THE VALLEYS AS WELL.

ACROSS THE PLAINS OF SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE WESTERN NEBRASKA
PANHANDLE...LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN IS EXPECTED SATURDAY NIGHT
THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH A GRADUAL CHANGEOVER TO SNOW
OCCURRING SUNDAY EVENING AND SUNDAY NIGHT BEHIND THE FRONT. TOTAL
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE VERY UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME AS THE
CHANGEOVER TO SNOW WILL DEPEND HEAVILY ON THE MOVEMENT OF THE COLD
FRONT.

IN ADDITION...NORTHWEST WINDS WILL BECOME STRONG AND GUSTY BEHIND
THE FRONT...AND WILL PERSIST THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK ESPECIALLY
DURING THE DAYTIME HOURS.

THE STORM SYSTEM WILL SLOWLY MOVE TO THE EAST ON MONDAY BUT WILL
REMAIN OVER THE CENTRAL GREAT PLAINS FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK.
AS A RESULT...EXPECT COOL...WINDY...AND WET CONDITIONS TO REMAIN
IN THE FORECAST THROUGH AT LEAST MIDWEEK. MOTORISTS PLANNING
TRAVEL OR OTHERS PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND MAY WANT
ADJUST PLANS ACCORDINGLY AS THIS UNSETTLED WEATHER RETURNS TO THE
REGION.
