...Flood Warning extended until late Tuesday night...The Flood
Warning extended for
The Contentnea Creek Near Hookerton.
* until late Tuesday night.
* At 9 AM Monday the stage was 14.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Water may threaten several homes in Tick
Bite. In Grifton, minor flooding is likely along Water Street and
Creekshore Drive. Water threatens properties on Loop Road north of
Hookerton. In northwest Greene County, water surrounds several
homes, and HWY 58 is likely impassable heading into Wilson County.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Neuse River At Kinston.
* until further notice.
* At 9 AM Monday the stage was 24.1 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 22.9 feet
by tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Water floods the intersection of HWY 258 and
HWY 70. Numerous homes and businesses flood along and south of HWY
70. All major highways on the south side of Kinston are impassible.
The Contentnea Creek backs up and causes major flooding in Grifton,
with homes and businesses inundated up to Main Street. Major
flooding will also occur in Tick Bite where numerous homes are
flooded. East of Kinston, HWY 55 is impassable at low spots around
the bridge with some homes flooded.
