* At 345 PM EDT, emergency management officials continue to report
areas of flooding and river flooding across much of the Sandhills,
southern Coastal Plain, and southern Piedmont. Areas of flooding
and high water will continue for many days in low-lying areas,
near streams and creeks and adjacent to area water ways and
rivers.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Spring Hope, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Seven Springs, Ivanhoe,
Laurinburg, Lillington, and Rockingham.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cape Fear River At Lillington.
* At 6:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.0 feet by this
morning. The river will fall below flood stage tomorrow early
afternoon.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet, The storm drains on the north bank are
inundated.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet, Water threatens homes upstream on Riverside
Hills Drive.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Minor flood stage - the boat launch ramp and
wooden deck at Howards Barbeque are flooded.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Action stage. The river is at bankfull.
