the Little River At Manchester.
* At 5:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 20.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.6 feet by
early Friday morning, and then begin falling.
* Impact...At 24.0 feet, Moderate flood stage. Manchester Road is
flooded.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet, flooding begins on Manchester Road near
the Fort Bragg water treatment plant.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Flood stage. Minor flood problems begin in
Fort Bragg near the water treatment plant.

the Cape Fear River At Fayetteville.
* At 5:00 AM Wednesday the stage was 41.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 45.2 feet by this
evening. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 35.0 feet, Flood stage. The boat ramp and lower parking
lot at Riverside Bait and Tackle off Person Street are flooded. The
stage and lower seating area at the Cape Fear amphitheater are
flooded.

THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of central North Carolina, including the following
areas, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham,
Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax,
Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange,
Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance,
Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson.

* From 7 PM EST this evening through Thursday evening

* Rain is expected to overspread the region from the south this
evening and tonight. The rain is expected to continue through
much of Thursday. Heavy rain is expected with storm totals
forecast between 1.50 and 2 inches through Thursday.

* This heavy rain falling on saturated ground will runoff
quickly. Streams, creeks, lakes, and rivers were already
running high or are already in flood. This rain event will
create additional flooding or exacerbate the flooding already
ongoing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. Monitor later forecasts and be alert for
possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
