The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued
a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM EST this
* LOCATIONS...Locations along the Pamlico Sound.
* TIMING...Through early this evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor coastal flooding of 1 to 2 feet
above normal along the Pamlico Sound.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following
areas, Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Jones, Mainland Dare,
Mainland Hyde, Onslow, Outer Banks Dare, Outer Banks Hyde,
Pamlico, Tyrrell, and Washington.
* Through this evening
* Heavy rain will continue through late afternoon before tapering
off this evening. Storm total rainfall amounts will range from 1
to 3 inches, with localized higher amounts.
* This rainfall could produce flash flooding, particularly in
poor drainage areas near creeks, streams and ditches. Street
flooding is likely. In addition, the ground remains saturated
due to heavy rainfall over the last few weeks. As a result, it
will not take much rainfall to produce flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* Flood Warning for
The Swift Creek Near Streets Ferry.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7 AM Thursday the stage was 3.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Impact...At 4.0 feet...Water threatens a few homes along Streets
Ferry Road just south of the creek. Streets Ferry Road floods near
West Craven High School.
