THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
NORTH CENTRAL MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...
NORTHWESTERN HOWARD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...

* UNTIL 1230 AM EDT

* AT 837 PM EDT...SEVERAL ROAD CLOSURES WERE REPORTED BETWEEN
CLARKSBURG AND COOKSVILLE...WITH A SWIFT WATER RESCUE REPORTED IN
LISBON. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA BETWEEN DAMASCUS AND COOKSVILLE. WITH
FLASH FLOODING STILL ONGOING...THE WARNING IS BEING EXTENDED.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THE HEAVY RAIN INCLUDE BOYDS...
DAMASCUS...LISBON...CLARKSBURG...AND GLENWOOD.

FLASH FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MCGRUDER BRANCH...AND FLASH
FLOODING HAS CLOSED MARYLAND STATE ROUTE 97 NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF
FREDERICK ROAD.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. ACT QUICKLY IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT
TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

TO REPORT FLASH FLOODING...HAVE THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN
