SOUTHWESTERN HARDIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL IOWA...
HAMILTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL IOWA...
NORTHEASTERN GREENE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL IOWA...
NORTHERN BOONE COUNTY IN CENTRAL IOWA...

* UNTIL 630 PM CDT SATURDAY

* AT 623 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED FLOODING STILL
OCCURRING ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE AREA AFTER 5 TO 9 INCHES OF RAIN
FELL THIS AFTERNOON. THE HEAVY RAIN HAS WEAKENED AND SHIFTED OFF
TO THE EAST AND FLOOD WATERS ARE STARTING TO STABILIZE OR RECEDE.
HOWEVER...FLOODING OF LOW LYING RURAL ROADS AND IN TOWNS MAY
REMAIN AN ISSUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SMALL STREAMS AND
RIVERS WILL ALSO REMAIN ELEVATED INTO SATURDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...AS WELL AS FARM AND COUNTRY ROADS. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

The Squaw Creek at Ames Lincoln Way...or From 2 miles upstream of
Lincoln Way...to the South Skunk River.
* Until Saturday evening.
* At 7:00 PM Friday the stage was 4.6 feet...or 5.4 feet below Flood
Stage.
* Flood Stage is 10.0 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise to Flood Stage Saturday morning. Continue rising to
between 10.5 and 11 feet...or 0.5 to 1 foot above Flood
Stage...late morning Saturday. Go below Flood Stage Saturday
evening.
* Impact...At 10.4 feet...Water is in the yard of Riverside
Manor...located at 1204 South 4th Street. Water also affects
nearby lowlands.

* Impact...At 23.0 feet...The Shady Grove Trailer Park...located
at 1006 South Dayton Avenue...floods. The railroad just
northeast of Cambridge floods as well.
