The Flood Warning continues for
The Wabash River at Covington.
* until Thursday March 01.
* At 9:45 PM Tuesday the stage was 17.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 26.3 feet by
Friday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Wednesday
* At 26.5 feet...State Road 234 near Lodi begins to flood. Homes are
affected along Warren CR South on opposite side of river.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Wabash River at Lafayette.
* until further notice.
* At 10:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 17.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.5 feet by
Thursday early afternoon then begin falling.
* At 24.0 feet...Significant flood. Flood waters along N River Rd
extend from just north of the Happy Hollow Rd intersection to near
the Old Soldiers Home, a distance of nearly 2 miles. The eastern
end of Catherwood Dr is now in the river. Some residents along N
River Rd, in the Davis Ferry Rd area and Barton Beach Rd area, may
leave. Low parking areas of Williamsburg Apt complex flood.
County Road 75 S west of CR 700 W floods. Fountain CR 500 E just
north of Riverside and River Rd near Williamsport flood.

* Flood Warning for...
Carroll County in north central Indiana...
Fountain County in west central Indiana...
Tippecanoe County in west central Indiana...
Northwestern Clinton County in central Indiana...
Warren County in west central Indiana...
Northwestern Vermillion County in west central Indiana...
Northwestern Montgomery County in west central Indiana...

* Until 645 AM EST Wednesday

* At 1239 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding continuing across the northern Wabash Valley. 2 to 4
inches of rain has fallen in this area since Monday morning...with
an additional half inch to one inch possible from rains overnight

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lafayette, Monticello, West Lafayette, Delphi, Covington,
Veedersburg, Williamsport, Attica, Flora, Rossville, Shadeland,
Dayton, Battle Ground, Mulberry, Cayuga, Waynetown, Linden, West
Lebanon, Camden and Clarks Hill.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, north
central Indiana, south central Indiana, southeast Indiana,
southwest Indiana, and west central Indiana, including the
following areas, in central Indiana, Bartholomew, Boone,
Clinton, Decatur, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard,
Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Rush, Shelby, and Tipton. In
east central Indiana, Delaware, Henry, and Randolph. In north
central Indiana, Carroll. In south central Indiana, Brown,
Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings.
In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin, and
Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay, Fountain, Montgomery,
Owen, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo, and Warren.

* Until 7 AM EST Wednesday

* Periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected across the area
today and tonight.

* This rain will cause flooding of some area rivers and may
cause flooding of streams and low lying areas.


A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
