The Muscatatuck River at Wheeler Hollow.
* until further notice.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 25.1
feet early Tuesday morning.
* At 24.5 feet...Top of staff gage. Extensive flooding in progress.
Water around several homes. Local roads are flooded extensive.
State road 135 likely flooded just north of Milport at this level
and higher.

The East Fork White River at Seymour.
* until further notice.
* At 2:45 PM Saturday the stage was 16.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 17.7 feet by
early Monday morning then begin falling.
* At 17.5 feet...Extensive agricultural flooding in progress. County
road 850 S and Indiana 11 begin to flood in southern Bartholomew
County. During August 2009...Indiana 11 closed between Southern
Crossing and Bartholomew CR 550 S. Columbus gage height was 9

The Flood Warning continues for
The East Fork White River at Columbus.
* from late tonight to Tuesday afternoon.
* At 3:00 PM Saturday the stage was 6.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 11.4 feet by early Monday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Tuesday morning.
* At 11.2 feet...State Road 11 in the Garden City area closed at this
level during March 2008 flood. Every road leading to or crossing
the East Fork White River in Bartholomew County except for State
Road 46 was flooded during the bigger March 2008 flood. All roads
were flooded in June 2008.

* from late tonight to Sunday evening.
* At 2:30 PM Saturday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 21.4 feet by tomorrow morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by tomorrow late morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Unusual high flow and flooding.

* At 909 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will
cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Vincennes, Seymour, Bedford, Washington, North Vernon, Brownstown,
Shoals, Vernon, Mitchell, Bicknell, Loogootee, Crothersville, Odon,
Oolitic, Medora, Elnora, Oaktown, Monroe City, Wheatland and


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana, and
west central Indiana, including the following areas, in
central Indiana, Bartholomew, Boone, Clinton, Decatur,
Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard, Johnson, Madison,
Marion, Morgan, Rush, Shelby, and Tipton. In east central
Indiana, Delaware, Henry, and Randolph. In south central
Indiana, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast
Indiana, Jennings. In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene,
Knox, Martin, and Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay,
Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Vermillion, and

* Through Sunday morning

* Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected through
Sunday morning, in areas that have already received
significant rainfall over the past few days. This will likely
worsen flooding on area waterways and lead to flooding of
other streams, low lying areas, and poor drainage areas.


A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
