The Flood Warning continues for
The Wabash River at Vincennes.
* until further notice.
* At 8:45 PM Saturday the stage was 15.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 27.0 feet by Saturday morning.
* At 27.0 feet...Water is very close to the top of the levee on the
Illinois side. Evacuations are necessary in Old Terre Haute area.
Sawmill floods. Kelso Creek fills with backwater. Levees are
patrolled. Water at critical stage for Niblack levee.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* until further notice.
* At 7:45 PM Saturday the stage was 20.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 29.7 feet by
Sunday early afternoon then begin falling.
* At 30.0 feet...Extensive flooding in progress on the northern
outskirts of Mount Carmel and in western Gibson County Indiana with
some evacuations needed. Flooding may cause some evacuations and
relocation of motorized land vehicles. Numerous local river roads
are flooded. Beall Woods State Park has 160-200 acres flooded.
High water backs up into Bon Pas Creek. Browns, Illinois may be
surrounded by water if heavy local rain occurs. River is 3 miles
wide at I-64.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.0 feet by
Thursday evening then begin falling.
* At 25.0 feet...A very significant flood is in progress. Emergency
flood fighting may be needed. Evacuations would begin from river
cabins in Dodge City. Livestock must be moved.

The White River at Hazleton.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 25.7
feet Friday early afternoon.
* At 26.0 feet...People in residential cabins on the riverward side of
the levee generally relocate. Many local roads are completely
impassable. Oil fields are inaccessible. The remaining water
pumps are installed on the west end of Hazleton.

Gibson County in southwestern Indiana...
Vanderburgh County in southwestern Indiana...
Posey County in southwestern Indiana...
Pike County in southwestern Indiana...
Henderson County in northwestern Kentucky...
Union County in northwestern Kentucky...

* Until 945 AM CST Sunday

* Although heavy rain has ended across southwest Indiana, the Wabash
Valley, and the Henderson area of west Kentucky, some creeks and
streams will remain out of their banks at least into Sunday
morning. Low-lying flood-prone areas will remain inundated. Flood-
prone roads will likely remain covered with water through at least
early Sunday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
