THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA...EAST CENTRAL
GEORGIA...NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA...NORTHEAST GEORGIA...
NORTHWEST GEORGIA AND WEST CENTRAL GEORGIA.

* THROUGH THIS EVENING

* NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES THAT TWO TO FOUR INCHES
OF RAIN...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...HAS FALLEN ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL
AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE
POSSIBLE. THE HEAVY RAINFALL AXIS WILL SHIFT TO THE SOUTHWEST
ACROSS THE METRO ATLANTA AREA DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING.

* FLOODING OF THE LARGER CREEKS AND RIVERS IS POSSIBLE WITH
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL.

* LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE IF THE HEAVY RAIN
REPEATEDLY MOVES OVER THE SAME AREA. ALSO...STORM DRAINS...
DITCHES...AND LOW LYING AREAS MAY BECOME QUICKLY CLOGGED WITH
DEBRIS AND CAUSE EXTENSIVE STREET FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR
LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE
LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
