The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Area - Ruskin FL has
issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 11 PM this
evening to 9 AM EST Thursday. The Freeze Watch is no longer in
* TEMPERATURE...28 to 32 degrees
* DURATION...5 to 8 hours
* IMPACTS...Unprotected plants may not survive.
A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has issued a
High Rip Current Risk, which is in effect from 1 PM EST this
afternoon through Thursday morning.
* RIP CURRENT TIMING...A strong cold front will move across the
eastern Gulf of Mexico through the day. Strong post frontal
winds will generate increased wave action at area beaches this
afternoon through tonight.
* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS...Strong rip currents will be hazardous
for those in the surf zone along area beaches.
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. For maximum safety...swim near a lifeguard.
Pay attention to flags and signs.
If you become caught in a rip current...yell for help. Remain
calm...do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current...swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

chills to range from 20 to 30 degrees along the interstate 4
corridor and points south.
* WHERE...Portions of central and southern Florida, including the
southwest Florida coast.
* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Thursday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Limit time outdoors and dress in warm
layers of clothing to protect yourself from the cold. Remember
to bring pets indoors..
