A STRONG LATE SEASON WINTRY STORM WILL BRING STRONG WINDS AND
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS TO THE REGION THIS WEEKEND. SOUTHWEST WINDS
WILL BECOME GUSTY FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. MOISTURE INCREASES OVER
THE FORECAST AREA FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY. COLDER UNSETTLED AIR
ON SATURDAY BRINGS INCREASING SHOWERS WITH LATE-DAY THUNDERSTORMS
POSSIBLE. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE HIGHER
MOUNTAINS ON SATURDAY.

SNOW LEVELS PLUMMET SATURDAY EVENING WHEN A STRONG COLD FRONT
SWEEPS THROUGH THE REGION. SNOW ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE OVER MOST
MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS AND POSSIBLY INTO THE HIGHER VALLEYS. SNOW
SHOWERS MAY LINGER IN THE COLORADO MOUNTAINS AND HIGH VALLEYS INTO
MONDAY.

TRAVEL THIS WEEKEND MAY BECOME DIFFICULT THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS
AND POSSIBLY EVEN HIGHER VALLEY LOCATIONS DUE TO ACCUMULATING SNOW

SATURDAY MORNING. GREATEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED
SATURDAY NIGHT WITH PRECIPITATION DECREASING FROM THE WEST BY
SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE BY SUNDAY
EVENING.

* SNOW LEVEL...AROUND 9000 FEET ON SATURDAY THEN LOWERING TO
MOUNTAIN BASES SATURDAY NIGHT.

* WINDS...SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH SATURDAY BECOMING
NORTHWEST BY SUNDAY.

* VISIBILITY...REDUCED TO LESS THAN A MILE IN PERIODS OF HEAVIER
SNOW.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL LIKELY BECOME SLUSHY AND EVENTUALLY
SNOWPACKED SATURDAY NIGHT HINDERING TRAVEL OVER MOUNTAIN
PASSES.
