THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREA...SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.

* FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

* FORECAST RAINFALL OF 0.40 TO 0.70 INCHES WILL CREATE THE
POSSIBILITY FOR FLASH FLOODING OVER AND NEAR THE SILVERADO BURN
SCAR. HEAVIEST RAINFALL AND THE HIGHEST RAINFALL RATES ARE
EXPECTED BETWEEN 3 AM AND 8 AM PDT SATURDAY MORNING. THIS IS
WHEN THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT WILL BE THE GREATEST. ADDITIONAL
LIGHT SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE AREA THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.

* THE RISK OF FLASH FLOODING AND DEBRIS FLOWS WILL BE GREATEST
OVER AND DOWNSTREAM OF THE SILVERADO BURN SCAR. SILVERADO CANYON
ROAD WILL BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO DEBRIS FLOWS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION

* LOCATION...ALONG MOUNTAIN RIDGES...DESERT SLOPES...THROUGH
AND BELOW CANYONS AND PASSES...AND INTO ADJACENT DESERT
AREAS. IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY...THROUGH AND BELOW THE SAN
GORGONIO PASS AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 10. INTERSTATE 8 IN
THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND DESERT WILL BE IMPACTED
AS WELL.

* VISIBILITY...MAY BE REDUCED IN THE DESERT DUE TO BLOWING SAND
OR REDUCED IN THE MOUNTAINS DUE TO BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...THE WINDS MAY MAKE FOR DIFFICULT DRIVING
CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. WATCH OUT
FOR BROKEN TREE LIMBS.

* OUTLOOK...CONDITIONS WILL SLIGHTLY IMPROVE LATE SATURDAY...
