...EARLY SEASON HEAT EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TODAY ACROSS LOWER
ELEVATIONS OF EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND ADJACENT WESTERN NEW
ENGLAND...

A HOT AND HUMID AIR MASS WILL BE IN PLACE ACROSS EAST CENTRAL NEW

EXPECTED TO REACH THE MID 90S IN VALLEY AREAS.

ALTHOUGH HEAT INDICES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW 100 DEGREES...THIS
SUDDEN CHANGE TO HOT AND HUMID WEATHER IS PARTICULARLY HAZARDOUS...AS
OUR BODIES HAVE NOT HAD MUCH TIME TO ACCLIMATE TO THE HEAT JUST
YET.

BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS IF REMAINING OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND DURING THE
DAYTIME...ESPECIALLY IF ENGAGING IN STRENUOUS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OR
PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR SPORTS. MAKE SURE TO REMAIN WELL
HYDRATED...AND TAKE BREAKS. TRY TO LIMIT SUN EXPOSURE. KNOW THE
SIGNS OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESS.

NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN A VEHICLE...EVEN WITH THE
WINDOWS DOWN. ALWAYS MAKE SURE ALL CHILDREN HAVE LEFT THE CAR WHEN
YOU REACH YOUR DESTINATION. REMEMBER...BEAT THE HEAT...LOOK BEFORE
YOU LOCK AND CHECK THE BACK SEAT!
