...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM MDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN CUSTER AND WEST CENTRAL PUEBLO COUNTIES...
At 841 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated rainfall was decreasing in
intensity over the area, however, run-off from earlier heavy rain
will continue to cause minor flooding in and near the Junkins burn
scar. Radar estimates between a half inch and one inch of rain has
already fallen over the southeast portion of the burn scar in the
North Creek drainage.
This flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
Custer and west central Pueblo Counties between Beulah and Wetmore.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
