The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM Monday to 11 AM PDT
Tuesday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire
Weather Watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday
evening.

* Impacts: Thunderstorms and very dry fuels will likely result
in new fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute
to fire spread. Initial attack resources could be overwhelmed
and holdover fires are possible.

* Area affected by warning:

In Northern CA...Tule Lake area and Lava Beds in fire weather
zone 284...and all but southwest portion of zone 285.

* Counties affected by warning:

In Northern CA...northeastern Siskiyou County...most of Modoc
County except the southwestern part.

* Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms with lightning
activity level of 3. However, the eastern part of Modoc County
could see precipitation approach or locally exceed wetting
rain. Along with frequent ground strikes, this could bring
lightning activity level up to LAL 4.

* Timing: Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and continue
overnight into Tuesday morning. Another round of scattered
thunderstorms is likely Tuesday afternoon and evening.

* One less spark, one less wildfire.

District in fire weather zone 618...the Kalmiopsis Wilderness
in fire weather zone 619...fire weather zone 620 south of
Galice...and all of fire weather zone 621 in the Siskiyou
Mountains.

* Counties affected by Watch:

In Northern CA...western Siskiyou County.

In Southwest OR...southern Curry County...south-central
Josephine County...far southern Jackson County.

* Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms with lightning
activity level of 3. There will be local wetting rains...but
most areas will get less than a tenth of an inch of rain with
these storms.

* Timing: Scattered thunderstorms may occur Tuesday afternoon
and evening.
