Natrona County Lower Elevations-Casper Mountain-
Including the city of Casper

A large and moist storm system will impact the area from Thursday
night through Friday night. The most challenging aspect of this
storm is the temperature and thus the snow levels. The Casper
area looks like it will stay rain during the day Friday with some
snow Friday night before ending. Casper Mountain will likely see
mostly snow with 4 to 6 inches possible and locally more in the
highest spots of Casper Mountain. Strong northeast wind gusts of
30 to 40 mph are possible in open or exposed areas.

Southwest Big Horn Basin-Owl Creek and Bridger Mountains-
Including the city of Thermopolis

A developing storm system will likely spread precipitation across
the area Thursday night through Friday. Rain is expected for the
Thermopolis area with snow above 6000 to 6500 feet. The Owl Creeks
and Bridger mountains could see 4 to 8 inches from this storm
system by late Friday night. Stay tuned for frequent updates on

Bighorn Mountains West-Bighorn Mountains Southeast-

Snow will develop across the Big Horns Thursday night and
continue into Friday evening before ending. Snowfall amounts of 4
to 8 inches will generally fall by late Friday night. Travel will
likely be impacted by snow covered roads and gusty north to
northeast wind of 25 to 40 mph.

Green Mountains and Rattlesnake Range-
Including the city of Jeffrey City
945 PM MDT Wed Mar 29 2017


* TIMING...Snow...heavy at expected to develop
quickly late Thursday evening over Beaver Rim and elevations
above 6500 to 7000 feet and continue through late Friday
night. Some of the lower elevations like Jeffrey City and
Sweetwater Station may see a rain or a rain snow mixture
change to snow later Friday into Friday evening with a couple
inches possible.

* SNOWFALL...8 to 16 inches over Beaver Rim with 1 to 4 inches

* WIND AND VISIBILITY...Northeast 30 to 45 mph combined with
heavy snow will likely produce near zero visibility at times
in blizzard conditions over Beaver Rim and the Green Mountains
and Rattlesnake Range above 6500 to 7000 feet.

* MAIN IMPACT...Travel over Beaver Rim may become impossible by
Friday due to heavy snow and 45 mph plus wind gusts.


A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant
