* Until 945 PM CST Tuesday.

* At 1249 PM CST, 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen since yesterday.
That rainfall combined with the snow melt along with up to an inch
of additional rainfall this afternoon and into this evening may
produce localized flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

The Sugar River At Brodhead.
* At 2:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 7.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 9.2 feet by
tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday
early afternoon.
* Impact...At 9.1 feet...This level is the 20 percent chance flood
meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the
river reaching this level. There is widespread flooding of lowland
and agricultural land in the Brodhead area. Floodwaters cover roads
about 6 miles downstream in Avon Township of Rock County. In the
Avon Bottoms area of Rock County, there is flooding in Sugar River
Park. Floodwaters are over Highway T in Rock County.

Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 9.9 feet...Floodwaters surround a power substation on
Colley Road. Floodwaters are also in the back yards of some homes
on Arrowhead Drive...East Ridge Road...Mocassin Drive...and in the
Turtle Ridge subdivision.

north side of Janesville and South River Road on the south side of
Janesville. There is extensive lowland and agricultural land
flooding in the Afton and Janesville areas.

At 357 PM CST, local law enforcement reported flooding across the
warned area. Green and Rock Counties appear to be the areas most
affected as of this afternoon. In addition to all the snow melt, 1
to 3 inches of rain have fallen on top of frozen ground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
