Light freezing rain and freezing drizzle will continue overnight
and into Tuesday morning. The precipitation will result in
hazardous travel conditions. Untreated roads, sidewalks, and
parking lots will be ice covered and treacherous. Even some
roadways that were treated and initially wet may begin to ice over
as the precipitation continues. Be sure to allow extra time for
the Tuesday morning commute, especially if it involves driving on
untreated roads.

A build-up of around a quarter inch of ice is likely on outdoor
surfaces across most of the area. A little less ice is likely
over far north-central Wisconsin, and near the lake in east-
central Wisconsin. As long as this forecast holds, the primary
impact of the ice will be to create slippy roads, sidewalks, and
parking lots, with only minimal impacts on tree branches and power

In addition to the ice-covered roads, fog is expected to thicken
overnight, especially over east-central Wisconsin. Some locations
south of a line from Wisconsin Rapids to Green Bay to Sturgeon
Bay may have the visibility drop to less than 1/4 mile at times
from late tonight through mid to late morning Tuesday. Commuters
in this area should also be prepared for the possibility of
encountering dense fog Tuesday morning.

The precipitation will diminish from west to east on Tuesday.
Warmer air will also gradually work into central and east-central
Wisconsin. As of 930 pm, temperatures at locations south and east
of a line from Chilton to Kewaunee had edged up to a degree or two
above freezing. The warmer temperatures will slowly expand north
late tonight and Tuesday morning. By mid to late morning, most
areas from Green Bay south and east to the lakeshore should be
above freezing, bringing to an end the freezing precipitation.
