...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING
TO 4 AM PST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Travel will be very difficult on
Tuesday north of Cusick and north of Chewelah. Total valley
accumulations around Colville, Kettle Falls, and Metaline Falls
will be between 4 and 7 inches. Republic will likely receive 10
to 15 inches. Elevations above 3000 feet can expect over a foot
of snow.

* WHERE...Colville, Chewelah, Newport, Kettle Falls, Flowery Trail
Road, Republic, Wauconda, Chesaw Road, Highway 20 Wauconda
Summit, Boulder Creek Road, and Sherman Pass.

* WHEN...The heaviest snow will fall late tonight into Thursday
afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow accumulations Tuesday will
create very difficult travel conditions. Localized power outages
will be possible from heavy wet snow. Heaviest snow
accumulations will be near the Canadian Border with a transition
to rain for the southern valleys around Deer Park, Springdale,
and Keller.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an

AFTERNOON TO 4 AM PST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially approaching the crest. Total snow
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches around Leavenworth and Plain, 5
to 10 inches in the Methow Valley, a foot or more around
Stehekin. Mountain accumulations up to 3 feet, are expected.

* WHERE...Leavenworth, Mazama, Twisp, Winthrop, Stehekin,
Conconully, Blewett Pass, and Loup Loup Pass.

* WHEN...4 PM today to 4 AM Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevation will likely influence snow
accumulations considerably. Temperatures in the low to mid 30s
may limit lowland accumulations for the lower Methow Valley.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO
4 PM PST TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 8 PM this
evening to 4 PM PST Tuesday.

* Locations...Omak, Okanogan, Oroville, Nespelem, and Disautel
Pass.

* Snow Accumulations...2 to 5 inches for elevations below 2000
feet. Localized accumulations of 5 to 8 inches above 2000 feet.

* Timing...Snow will develop by mid to late evening and persist
through Tuesday morning. Precipitation may mix with or change to
rain Tuesday afternoon...especially below 2000 feet elevation.

* Impacts...Slushy accumulations will have the potential to create
treacherous driving conditions. Elevation will likely influence
snow accumulations considerably. Temperatures in the low to mid
30s may limit lowland accumulations around Omak and Brewster.

* Temperatures...In the lower 30s.
