AT 1058 PM EDT...RAIN HAS CHANGED TO SNOW. HOWEVER WATER FROM
EARLIER RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO RUN OFF...AND RIVERS WILL
CONTINUE TO BE HIGH. RURAL STREAMS AND RIVERS HAVE FLOODED
LOW-LYING AREAS. ROADS ARE CLOSED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN THE

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* ALL OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING

* WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL HAS AFFECTED THE
REGION TODAY. EXPECT STEADY RAIN TO CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF
VERMONT THROUGH EARLY EVENING...AND RAIN TO CHANGE TO SNOW
ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK. BY LATER THIS EVENING PRECIPITATION
SHOULD BE IN THE FORM OF ALL SNOW BEFORE ENDING LATER TONIGHT.

* RIVER AND STREAM LEVELS REMAIN HIGH DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF
RAINFALL...SNOWMELT AND RECENT WARM TEMPERATURES. NUMEROUS
WATERWAYS ARE CURRENTLY NEAR OR IN FLOOD WITH ADDITIONAL RISES
EXPECTED TONIGHT DUE TO RUNOFF FROM TODAY'S RAINFALL AND
RESIDUAL SNOWMELT FROM THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN NEW
YORK AND VERMONT THIS EVENING...BEFORE TAPERING OFF AND ENDING
FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS THE REGION AFTER MIDNIGHT.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM A DUSTING TO 2
INCHES IN THE VALLEYS AND FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN.

THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND THE FREEZING OF STANDING WATER FROM
RECENT RAIN WILL RESULT IN SLICK ROADS IN MANY AREAS OVERNIGHT.
MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION AND ALLOW EXTRA DISTANCE
BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS.
