...Elevated Fire Weather Potential This Afternoon...

Dry conditions persist with an overall lack of rainfall across
the region. Southwest winds will increase to 10 to 20 mph with
highest gusts possible this afternoon. These winds will coincide
with many areas across New Hampshire and adjacent westernmost
Maine having relative humidity values in the 30 to 40 percent
range. These conditions, in combination with very little rainfall
recently, will lead to elevated fire weather potential this
afternoon.

Very dry conditions are possible on Friday as well under
northwest breezes.

...Gusty Winds And Dry Weather Raise Fire Weather Concerns Today...

Fire officials in Vermont advise against any open burning today.
The lack of precipitation this month has led to fuels such as
leaves...grass...and small brush to become very dry across all of
Vermont. Winds today will gust in the 15 to 25 mph range and
humidities will be lowering in the afternoon. All of these factors
will increase the potential for any fires that do start to spread
quickly and become more difficult to contain.
