THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES...AUSTIN...BRAZORIA...BRAZOS...BURLESON...CHAMBERS...
COLORADO...FORT BEND...GALVESTON...GRIMES...HARRIS...HOUSTON...
JACKSON...LIBERTY...MADISON...MATAGORDA...MONTGOMERY...POLK...
SAN JACINTO...TRINITY...WALKER...WALLER...WASHINGTON AND
WHARTON.

* FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING

* AT LEAST TWO ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE
THROUGH SOUTHEAST TEXAS IN ASSOCIATION WITH A PAIR OF UPPER
DISTURBANCES. THE FIRST ROUND IS EXPECTED AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
AND SUNDAY. THE SECOND ROUND SHOULD MOVE THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. PERIODS OF PRECIPITATION ARE EXPECTED
BETWEEN THE TWO DISTURBANCES AS WELL.

TOTAL RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN NOW AND TUESDAY WILL LIKELY
RANGE BETWEEN 2 TO 5 INCHES ACROSS MOST OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
HOWEVER...DUE TO THE HIGH POTENTIAL FOR TRAINING RAINS AND A
FAVORABLE UPPER LEVEL PATTERN...ISOLATED TOTALS OF 7 TO 11 INCHES
ARE VERY POSSIBLE. LOCALIZED...BUT POSSIBLE.

The flood warning continues for
the Neches River Near Alto, Texas.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 700 AM Saturday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 18.3 feet
by Sunday morning.
* Impact...at 19.0 feet...Preparations should be completed for a
moderate flood. Barns and farm buildings near the river will be
threatened by high water. In addition, ranchers should have
completed moving cattle and equipment to higher ground.

* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1015 AM Saturday the stage was 16.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Forecast...The river will recede to near 15.9 feet by Sunday
morning. Also the Neches River crested near Diboll at 16.5
feet during Friday afternoon.
* Impact...at 16.0 feet...Lowland flooding will slowly decrease for
the next several days.

* At 0815 PM Saturday the stage was 41.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to slowly fall to below flood stage by late
Sunday night or early Monday morning.
* At 41.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins creating problems for cattle
ranches and prison farms. Cattle should be removed from low areas with several
ranches required to evacuate livestock from bottom land.
